The SCA flavor wheel maps the main sensory notes found in this Indian espresso blend. Built with 65% natural Robusta and 35% washed SLN 9, the cup is deep, creamy and intense, with dark chocolate, molasses and warm spice at the front. The SLN 9 adds a sweeter layer of caramelized hazelnut and soft stone-fruit character, giving the blend a rounder finish while keeping the strong body and crema expected from a bold espresso.

This blend is built entirely around coffees from Riverdale Coffee Estate in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu, India. Located in the Eastern Ghats at around 1500 m.a.s.l., Riverdale is known for pushing Indian specialty coffee forward with modern processing, careful quality control and a wide range of experimental lots.
The estate is run by the Balaraman brothers, Mohan and Prakash, who have developed Riverdale with a modern cupping lab, energy-efficient wet mill, raised-bed drying and temperature-controlled storage. Their work helps challenge the idea that Indian coffee is only heavy or traditional — showing that it can also be sweet, clean, expressive and complex.
